Best Fried Egg Recipe with Rye
If your baby can chew, this is a good lunch. My son Nicholas loves how the egg gets a little crunchy when it’s fried in the butter, and it’s especially delicious with the toasted rye bread and mayonnaise.
SERVES: 2 adults and 2 children
PREP TIME: 5 mins
COOK TIME: 5 mins
2 tablespoons/¼ stick butter
6 eggs
6 slices of wholegrain rye bread mayonnaise, to taste, for spreading
1 Melt the butter in a large frying pan over medium-high heat. When it is
sizzling hot, break the eggs into the pan one at a time and gently break the
yolks. Work in batches if necessary.
2 Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes until the eggs are just cooked. Meanwhile, toast the bread.
3 Spread some mayonnaise on each slice of bread and top with 1 egg. Serve warm.
